Elementary and Primary Distance Learning

As everyone knows the State Board of Education  has decided the safest way to finish out our school year is at home.

Parents are encouraged to contact your students teacher to receive their instructions for Distance Learning.  Each Grade Level Distance Learning Plan will be different.

This instruction will be delivered to your home from a variety of tiered learning management systems. Ex.. TIER 1 students with internet and devices will do digital activities. TIER 2 students that have access to a cell phone will take pictures of their work and text or email it to teachers.  TIER 3 students with no internet access will complete paper packets.

Google Classroom, Wonders ELA, Moby Max, Soft Seven Math Race, Renaissance Reading and Math, Class Dojo Zoom Conferences, Facebook Live, and traditional packets are some examples of Alternative Methods of Instruction our teachers will use to deliver Distance Learning.

Grade Level Teams have participated in a week of professional development to create Distance learning plans that will best serve our students and help them continue to grow academically.

Students personal items will be bagged up and a staff member will schedule a meeting for curb side pick up.

Beaver Elementary and Primary will do whatever it takes to communicate with you and keep your child’s needs at the front of every  decision.   Your child’s teacher will be available to  help you and work with you on any assignments or questions you may have.

We will continue serving your children breakfast and lunch each Beaver Duster Calendar School day from 11:30 until gone.  This would also be a good time to pick up personal items.

Parents will be receiving a combination of personal phone calls, zoom conference calls, emails, class dojo messages etc… regarding instruction and future plans by our innovative teachers.

We appreciate you being understanding and working with us so well throughout this challenge we face.

The State Department of Education has sent us guidelines, frameworks, and assurances to help our district plan for you child’s academic grow and success during Distance Learning.  These resources are to guide and help our district plan for Distance Learning.  Decisions will be made at the local level.  Teachers have final say in their Distance Learning Plans.

Home of the Dusters

On the wind-swept plains of the Oklahoma Panhandle lies the pioneer town of Beaver, Oklahoma, the first town built in the territory known as "No Man's Land." It grew from a small trading post on the Beaver River to a town of cattle trails, vigilante justice, and strong pioneer stock. The town has outlasted outlaws and gunfights, oil booms and oil busts, droughts and floods, dust storms and tornadoes. Each event made us stronger and more determined.

Almost as soon as the first cattle drive came through in 1886, the people started building schools and churches. Education has always been a priority to this community, and the school has always been a center of learning, activity, entertainment and community pride.

Beaver Schools is one of the premier learning institutions in the state. It has garnered numerous awards and is known for its innovative approach to education. It offers advanced technology combined with an emphasis on fundamentals ... small classes with expert teachers guiding the way...first-class athletic facilities that have produced a long list of champions...in academics, in athletics, in music, in providing tomorrow's leaders and citizens ... This is the Home of the Beaver Dusters.

COMMON SENSE MEDIA FOR PARENTS - Digital citizenship needs to be taught to our students at school and home.  These are a couple of good resources.

ThinkB4U.com  This is a great web site for students, parents and teachers to learn about many issues regarding social networking (Facebook, XBoxLive, Twitter, etc.)  It is interactive and loaded with very good information.
