Growing Stronger Readers at Beaver Elementary! 📚 Today, the teachers at Beaver Elementary participated in an exciting day of professional learning with our own Oklahoma Literacy Initiative consultant, Kay Cabiniss. Our staff had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Science of Reading, the Simple View of Reading, and the Reading Brain. We continue to learn, grow, and strengthen our instructional practices so we can provide our students with the very best literacy instruction possible. The Oklahoma Literacy Initiative is designed to strengthen literacy instruction aligned with the Science of Reading and the Strong Readers Act through: ✨ Coaching ✨ Professional Learning ✨ Collaboration ✨ Implementation Support We are grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside one another and continue building the knowledge and skills needed to help every student become a confident, capable reader! 📖❤️

📢 NEW PRE-K–8TH GRADE PICK-UP & DROP-OFF PROCEDURES 📢

Beginning Tuesday, August 25th, Beaver Public Schools will begin using our NEW pick-up and drop-off procedures for Pre-K through 8th Grade students.

📍 Please carefully review the attached images for directions showing the new entrances, exits, designated pick-up/drop-off areas, and each grade level entrance.

⏰ Morning Drop-Off
Staff members will be outside and ready to assist students beginning at 7:40 a.m.

🚗 IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Please DO NOT park in the drop-off lane and walk your student all the way to the door. Keeping the lane clear will help traffic continue to move safely and efficiently during morning drop-off.

We know a new routine may take a few days for everyone to get used to, and we greatly appreciate your patience, cooperation, and attention to the new traffic flow as we work to make arrival and dismissal as safe and smooth as possible for our students, families, and staff.

A special THANK YOU to Bryer Paving, 4 Carr’s Pavement Marking, and JP Construction for their hard work in helping us improve our pick-up and drop-off areas. We greatly appreciate the time and work put into making these improvements possible!

We would also like to thank Police Chief John Kiley for providing the aerial photographs used to help us clearly communicate the new procedures.

Mrs. Payne‘s sixth grade geography class has been working on learning the five major themes of geography. Each group was challenged to come up with a poster depicting one of the five themes but also cheering on our Dusters! The sixth grade class wants to wish our Duster girls the best of luck at the Panhandle shootout! 🥎💛🖤🌪️

THE softball field looks beautiful and is ready for a full weekend of fun competition at the Beaver Panhandle Shootout!! Stop by the fair, grab some amazing food at the various food trucks and come watch some great game play at the Lady Duster softball field all day today and tomorrow! Our one-and-only Lady Dusters play today at 2:00 pm. If you still need an All Sports Pass, you will need to see Rhonda Perry at the school to purchase your pass: Family Pass = $125, Adult Single Pass = $60 and Student Single Pass = $35. (You won't be able to purchase these passes at the gate today and tomorrow. You MUST see Mrs. Perry at the school first!) LET THE CHIPS FLY, LADY DUSTERS!!! 💛🖤🌪️💩🥎💩🥎💩🥎💩🥎💩🥎

The Lady Dusters compete in the Panhandle Shootout this weekend here at the Cowchip Capital of the World 💩🥎Here is the bracket so you know when to show up LOUD!! Lady Dusters play on Friday, August 21st at 2:00 pm 😎💛🖤🌪️

BLACK, GOLD and CAMO DAY!!! Tomorrow, Friday, August 21st, the Lady Dusters will play in the Panhandle Shootout at 2:00 pm. ALL students, teachers, parents, grandparents, community members, EVERYONE is invited to come cheer for the Lady Dusters. Wear black and gold and camo! The cheerleaders will be visiting classrooms tomorrow morning to sell beads, tattoos and pom poms so send a little extra money to school with your students so they can DUSTER SPIRIT up! 💛🖤🌪️🥎
